Revenge Season 2-Episode 3

Last Time on Revenge: Conrad beat up Victoria (all part of the plan, y'all) Victoria and Conrad's extremely dysfunctional marriage is thriving, Declan is an idiot and Amanda likes Popsicles.

And now: The mysteriously handsome British fellow with a striking resemblance to Channing Tatum is telling Emily that she needs his help, and she certainly does as her place is a mess since Not-Channing shot the White Haired Man. Meanwhile Daniel watches from afar  next door and comments that she likes to clean when she can't sleep. Victoria comments that maybe she should try that too. Ha. I love Victoria, and I can only imagine the look on her face if she came within 10 feet of a broom or, worse, a toilet brush. Daniel questions Victoria about what happened to her. It turns out Victoria did get on the plane but after she received a menacing call from Good ol' White Haired Man, who threatened her and Charlotte she got  the fuck out of there.

Meanwhile Emily and Not-Channing deal with the White Haired Man, oh, no, actually they don't. After they search him and find Victoria's fake passport, among other things, Emily and Nolan chuck Not-Channing, actually called Aiden, into a dumpster. He manages to escape just in time and discovers a ticket back to Japan in his boot. Aiden finds Emily's mom, working at the hotel where the White Haired Man was staying (his name is Gordon, but I love how this show used "White Haired Man"as a character name for half a season) . Aiden did a remarkable American accent too and discovered the black box from the plane Victoria  was on. He tells Emily's mom that he is a detective but she's no Declan so she rings up the police station and discovers no such British/American revenge school graduate working there.

Backstory! Aiden and Emily were lovers (of course they were! Who hasn't Emily been lovers with?) but he left her to go on his own revenge quest for his sister. Also, they were chased by harmless ferocious dogs.

Since Declan, like the other men on this show, lacks a functioning brain, he has taken up a career in theft. I'm not sure where this story is going but it is nearly a tie between Jack and Declan for who I hate more. Jack takes the lead, however Declan is quickly catching up.

Victoria meanwhile has holed the whole family up, called a press conference and banned Emily from the premises. Emily uses her super blackmailing skills and has Amanda sneak in with a video filled with proof that Charlotte is David Clark's daughter. Meanwhile Aiden has someone deliver Victoria's fake passport to Daniel. Daniel must have been spectacularly dense to not have realised his mom was up to no good until now. I wonder if he and Declan are secretly brothers? Emily shows up anyway, but only after Charlotte has watched the film and announced that she is David Clark's daughter to a reporter who loudly thanks her lucky stars. Victoria, proving that she is completely unflappable, calmly regroups. Daniel is about to throw a temper tantrum but Emily advises him to use more subtle techniques. Daniel ponders why his yelling and screaming technique hasn't worked. Not really, but he should because clearly his parents who are willing to blow up planes, beat up each other and have had several people killed are not going to be bothered by a little fit. At the press conference Victoria tells everyone the truth and they (the family) all hold hands. Victoria even calls up Amanda, welcoming her to the family. Emily smiles because she knew this was going to happen. But how? She truly is becoming Victoria. Unfortunately, Amanda has been banned from the Grayson premises by Jack. When she gets home Jack is all "I would do anything for that retard Declan and I appreciate that you would do anything for your sister but, uh, we should break up". In an earlier scene Jack thanked Emily for being friends with Amanda. I would say that if you need to thank someone for being friends with your girlfriend it may be time to break up with that girlfriend, but I just hate Jack so I don't even care. I mean, the only reason he got together with Amanda in the first place was that he thought she was somebody else rather than actually considering whether they were compatible of not. Well, I can forgive him for being a romantic but he's such a useless asshole otherwise. He's lazy, whiny and self-righteous. Daniel, who has the common sense of a brick wall, is a better choice for Emily. Although, she is becoming kind of evil so maybe not. Anyway, I digress. Amanda and Jack break up. Also in the Jack and Declan story line, Declan was totally busted for stealing and a creepy, mysterious stranger shows up and says all is forgiven. Jack, unwisely, promises to help out the stranger in the event that he (the stranger) ever needs anything.  So. In conclusion. Jack also has the common sense of a brick wall.

Back at Casa Grayson Conrad tells a reporter that he and Victoria will be getting married again. This is Conrad's revenge for Victoria airing all their dirty laundry. This is Victoria though so she really isn't bothered. You can see the wheel's turning as she plots someone else's demise. Daniel pops in to give his mom a hug but a close up of his face tells us that he is also plotting something, at least, I think he is, it's Daniel so maybe he is just constipated.

Emily returns home to find Aiden offering to trade the black box for the belongings found on Gordon the White Haired Man. Emily declines and later she listens to the voice mail messages on the SIM card. As it turns out Emily's mom and Gordon were lovers. I don't think this was a particularly shocking twist, considering last weeks episode. However, I do wonder why Emily's mother isn't searching for her daughter. I guess we don't know conclusively that she isn't, but it didn't seem that way.

In the Nolan-as-a-heterosexual subplot, his overeager and newly promoted employee overhears a conversation  Nolan has with Emily on the phone about heating things up. She looks pretty depressed as Nolan leaves to help Emily rather than having lunch with her. Aw, I feel bad for her but I don't really like where this is going, at all. First of all, why doesn't this girl get the gay/bisexual vibe from Nolan? Secondly Revenge seems to clever for this trickery.

Yikes, this show is, as always, packed with craziness. Even though I'm not a fan of Declan or Jack I am curious to see what's going on with Declan and what Aiden's story is.
