Last time on Revenge: "We are Family" played as the Graysons held hands (not really) Aiden and Emily were lovers and so were Gordon the White Haired Man and Emily's mom.
As Emily talks about the curse that is intuition, an underpaid maid mops up blood at Casa Grayson, while it's threatening matriarch oversees the operation. As in previous episodes we flash back to 24 hours earlier. A hunky fellow is running along the beach! Who could it be? It's Aiden, of course who has more advice for Emily. Even though Emily wants to go see her mom, Aiden, wisely, advises against it. What if her mom recognizes her? Never mind the fact that Emily's mom has been dating a hit man, I mean, that's gotta be problematic. They also talk about the initiative. Blah, blah, blah. For now I am ignoring this plot because I feel like it's been stolen straight from Lost and/or The X-Files.
Meanwhile, Declan confronts his friend, who's name I don't know nor care to learn, about the stolen goods. Apparently they've already been sold so Declan can't return them to the Creepy Stranger. Ruh-roh! Jack shows up and asks about Declan's new 'friend'. Declan does a pouty face. Ah, Declan, you should have realised that this guy was bad news when he said "hey, let's be partners in petty crime in a small town". Jack meanwhile tells Amanda she doesn't have to move out. Amanda and I both make the same "bitch please" face. Jack has now sealed the deal as the stupidest man on this show.
Nolan's new love interest/CFO is berating him for not having opened his mail for six months. Hey, I do that too but it's to avoid my credit card bills, those things are scary! Nolan doesn't have such an excuse, he just doesn't like "snail mail". Emily shows up and gets the side eye. Girlfriend is totally jealous and Nolan doesn't have the smarts to tell her that he is totally, maybe gay. Also that Emily is his partner in crime, not his partner-partner. We also learn that Nolan's father has died and he didn't know it. Nolan, that is, certainly his father knew. Later, she asks him about a lawsuit between them and a now defunct company. Nolan is sadly googling his dad but when he leaves, she swipes his keys. Ruh-roh again.
Victoria asks Charlotte for the incriminating diary but Charlotte tells her it belongs to Amanda. Even though Emily essentially broke up Jack and Amanda, and Amanda says as much herself, they are still moving in together. In any case, right on cue, Victoria calls up Amanda inviting her over so they can discuss the journal. Amanda heads over there and interrogates Victoria, while Emily instructs her. Victoria straight up lies to Amanda and then says they are having an impromptu baby shower tomorrow. Amanda says she is one lucky girl. I actually think Amanda is almost as good a playa as Victoria. Both of them spew nonsense at random.
Later, Daniel is crunching numbers and looking very serious as he studies the calculator. Ashley bursts in saying that the should be honest with her. Aww, poor Daniel, he seems so nice and all the women in his life mean him harm. Back at the boat house, or wherever they live, Ashley is looking very pretty in yellow and a side braid (I love a good side braid, myself) and Daniel is looking very pretty in a towel. Daniel tells Ashley that the kidnapping was fake and that the Grayson business has been fraudulent. Ashley is all "no duh, I've been in on this for a long time". She, perhaps, questions this as Daniel says he will protect her if the company goes down and she not at all suspiciously hangs up on whoever (Conrad) as been calling her all morning. Jeez, Ashley, ever heard of the "silent" function?
Aiden visits Emily's mom, Kara, again, saying that he, like Gordon, is part of the FBI, and Gordon was in a deep cover operation when he went missing. Kara notices that he was American last time he visited her. He asks if Gordon left anything behind, any way to find him. Kara gets out the taser.
Meanwhile, Conrad and Jack are up to shady business. Grayson is meeting with a woman dressed like a bad Star Trek villain who tells him that they don't know why Gordon kidnapped Victoria, after all, they have all been loyal members of the 'organization' for years. Jack tells the Creepy stranger that he will give him $2500. What the heck, Jack? Do you think that will even begin to cover it? It does not, but Creepy Stranger threatens to get involved with the police. At this point I would have said, "sure, take that idiot" but Jack is a good (stupid) brother and says he will get the money. We are all wondering how.
Amanda is busy ruining her baby shower by bringing all her stripper friends. Certainly this will make it more entertaining. She gives a judgmental eye to a woman who is much bigger than her and says "twins?" , to which the woman replies "no, just one". Hahah, Amanda is turning into my kind of bitch. She's smart too, since she tells Emily that the girls are a distraction. Amanda gets Victoria to write her a cheque so she will be able to match the signature with that of the one from Kara's hospital visitor records. In return she agrees to hand over the journal. Amanda and Victoria argue with Victoria saying that Kara tried to kill (real) Amanda. Emily can't doesn't hear this though and only comes out in time to see that Amanda has fallen over the railing. Victoria looks genuinely horrified as Amanda is rushed to the hospital, pleading for them to save her baby. Is it bad that I laughed here? I mean, of course she wants to save the baby but who wouldn't? Also she seems oddly coherent for someone who has nearly fallen to her death. Emily and Victoria exchange knowing looks.
Daniel is getting suspicious of Ashley and has her car towed (to distract her) so he can spy on her. When he gets home he overhears a conversation between Ashley and his dad where Ashley says that she is done spying on Daniel. Daniel smiles evilly. Meanwhile, Padma takes Nolan to the storage unit with his dad's stuff and they kiss! What?! I totally take back everything I said before, did Nolan just get hot? At the hotel, Aiden is tied to a chair and trying to break free after Kara left him to do some recon of her own.
The Creepy Stranger, meanwhile, is u to no good. Turns out he is working with Declan's new not-friend in an evil plot to....BUY JACK's BAR!? WHAT? That is the evil plot. I am so bored by this.
At the hospital Amanda is put in a coma because this is a soap and no soap is complete without someone in a coma. She has the baby via c-section. Jack regrets being a douche. Declan gives Charlotte his jacket because apparently she's cold?? Aiden manages to break free and call Emily to warn her that her mother is coming for her. She sees Kara standing over Amanda and suddenly remembers her mother attempting to kill her. She goes home and breaks down in Aiden's arms. Rawr!
Another great and dramatic episode.
