Today's post is inspired by the fact that January is typically a slow time for restaurant workers, at least in Canada. Every Christmas Canadians max out their credit cards on Christmas gifts, parties, decorations etc. Every January they make New Year's resolutions about saving money so they don't want to go out to eat, nor leave generous tips! So, if you're broke (or saving money) like me, here's 10 things to do for $10 or less.
.) Get a month of Netflix and watch all the low budget and/or foreign movies you want!
.) Stock up on trashy magazines and find out what's happening to the celebrities you love or love to hate!
.)Go out with your friends and be the DD. You won't have a hangover and you can see your friends doing hilarious things.
.)Get a bottle of wine from the cheap section. Cheers!
.)Buy toys for the dogs/cats and then watch them play. Or, if you have a Jack Russell Terrier like me, have a tug of war. A great workout.
.)Download new music and discover some new bands/songs to add to your iPod.
.)Go to the thrift shop/second hand shop and put see what you can find. Maybe you can make a whole outfit?
.)Download free lectures from iTunes U and expand your horizons!
.)Grab a coffee/tea with friends. Or have one by yourself and people watch.
.)Buy or borrow that classic novel you've always wanted to read. iTunes has lots of classics for free, Amazon has them for cheap, or there's always the library.
