No posts today due to it being Remembrance day and, also, the busy week I've had. Let's take this time to remember the atrocities of war. I always approach this day with a bit of cynicism. First of all, most of my community did not participate in any of the wars in the last century. Secondly, it always seems to be a bit cliched to me, to paint war as something noble and the men/women as brave warriors. Certainly they are brave but there is a lot that happens in war that seems to not get remembered. Perhaps it is just that I have just finised reading 'Generals Die In Bed' by Charles Yale Harrison, an incredible book, which I recommend to everyone, history/art student or not! In any case, this is an important day and I propose we use it to remember the horrors of war, the people who died senselessly and remember that we must do all we can to make/ keep peace in the future.
