5 Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

I have to confess that I am one of those people who loves the internet. I never pine for the days of going to the library or sending letters or any of those things I never really experienced. I love the immediacy of the internet and the accessibility and the availability of a platform for anyone to write or create, well, anything they want. I especially love podcasts. I love the feeling of a relationship with people who are off somewhere exotic, much like the relationship you have with favourite TV characters, except real people. One of my favourite podcasts is News in Slow Spanish, I love the spectrum of this podcast which features a native speaker from Spain, an English second language learner and and native speaker from South America.

Why you should listen: This comprehensive podcast covers news topics, a grammar point, an idiom and a feature on Latin/South America. It's always informative and the presenters have great banter. The English speaker demonstrates that it is possible to have a good accent. It is quite slow though which is nice and they repeat the numbers, which is nice!
Schlafos in Munchen -German Podcast
Why you should listen: German podcasts are not as easy to find or as accessible as Spanish ones so a long running and easy to listen to one like this should not be missed.
Why you should listen: CBC has great programs, it must be said, and I really think everyone, I mean everyone who works there has the most beautiful voices gifted to mankind. Perhaps I am biased because they all have lovely Canadian accents, as I listened to really famous podcasts like This American Life and didn't like them, mainly because of their voices. Anyway. Jian Gomeshi has a really great podcast and voice (and he's the brother of a professor I had a few years ago) on current topics. And come on, he's so handsome. Anyway. He is a national item by now so give it a try.
Catalan Music Podcast
Why you should listen: I started listening to this because I was missing Barcelona and can't wait to go back. I love Catalan music in a purely touristic sense and always loitered a bit in the shop near my flat to listen to the music. Anyway, this monthly podcast is presented in English and features a wide variety of bands. I find it odd that it's in English but as I am always on the lookout for new music I do enjoy this. If you want a bit of culture and music, give it a listen.
Daily French Pod
Why you should listen: These podcasts are short and easy to listen to and feature "a typical encounter in France".

These headphones are from Hot Topic, not normally a haunt of mine, but they are so cute! I can't wait to get them!
