Restaurant Review-La Galería

Last night I ate at a very cool little restaurant called La Galería in Barrio Del Carmen in Valencia. One of the things I love most about Valencia are all the hip little spaces for dinner, drinks or to take in an exhibit.

This place definitely had a great vibe, lots of art in a big, open space with a funky little garden in the back and Back to Black playing. They offer quesadillas, bocadillos and homemade desserts. I had a chicken quesadilla and I did enjoy it, but to be honest it was not exactly what I think of when I think of quesadillas. Nonetheless, it was pretty tasty. The patatas bravas were also delish! 

The price was pretty good as well, my meal with a coke was 12 Euros.

Festival De Las Naciones

Well readers, as you may know, if there's one thing I like more than animals it's multi -cultural festivals, and just my luck there's one in Valencia right now!


Since I went alone, I came prepared with my book, some and enjoyed some Cruzcampo in the sun. What is better than drinking in the sun? 

The best part of any festival is the food- am I right? I haven't gone to the American one yet, but I think those ribs will be calling my name soon!

I did stop for some curry and my first taste of Indian beer (in Spain-c'est la vie!)

The curry was delicious as well.

 These guys tried really hard to get everyone to dance with them. With not very much luck.

Then I saw these two little guys and fell in love instantly. They were so sweet.

Although this guy did make a bid for my affections with his tremendous dancing skills. I was too stupefied to  make a video but this guy gave Beyoncé a bootylicious run for her money.  (The guy on stage)

 But my heart still belongs to these guys.

Oceanogràfic Valencia

Oh boy guys, I love animals and I feel a strong lure to anything involving animals but I also feel a strong lure to saving my money that's why I hadn't previously forked over the 25 euros to see Oceanogràfic in Valencia. However, having gone I can say that if you're heading to Valencia take a couple of hours and check this out!

Oceanogràfic really had everything, sharks, whales, adorable seals, a seahorse statue made out of things found at the beach (by the way, don't litter at the beach! It takes hundreds to thousands of years for your garbage to compose there, at least according to the displays here), a really angry walrus and much, much more.

But my favourite part was the dolphin show, it was cheesy and over the top but it was ridiculously fun to watch and made you feel like a kid again.Not to mention the fact that the trainers had so much charisma (and skill) that they could have done the show by themselves.

Bottom Line: Sure it was a cheesy tribute to sea life, complete with ambient spa music and pointless bodies of water but it was also a fun and refreshing way to spend the afternoon.
